Los Angeles, CA – November 19, 2021 – Extraordinary Families, a leading nonprofit committed to serving children and youth in foster care, is pleased to announce the election of two new members to our Board of Directors. Nigel Lifsey and Karmel Graham bring a wealth of experience and expertise in their fields and will be tremendous assets to the agency as we further our mission of helping children and youth in foster care have the childhoods and futures they rightfully deserve.

“I am thrilled to welcome Nigel Lifsey and Karmel Graham as new Board members,” said Barnaby Murff, Chief Executive Officer. “They join Extraordinary Families at an exciting time as we continue to ensure safe and loving homes for an influx of children entering foster care. We look forward to how they will build deeper relationships with our public and private partners in this work.”

Nigel Lifsey has a background in economics and is the Senior Fund Accountant at Post Advisory Group in Century City. Nigel is the cofounder of Urban Society Long Beach, an entertainment company that hosts community and social events across Long Beach. Nigel has a passion for empowering youth and he plans to broaden Extraordinary Families’ reach in Long Beach.

Karmel Graham holds an MBA from USC and comes from a professional background in fashion design, real estate, product management in consumer electronics, product marketing in bionic prosthetics and now product marketing at Microsoft. She is a mother of an 8 year old girl and a committed advocate for children and youth in foster care.

The new members join Board leadership consisting of Fenton Bailey, co-founder of World of Wonder; Michelle Visage, television host and media personality; Leonardo Bolanos, vice president, banking relationship advisor at Northern Trust Wealth Management; Sarah Boone-Perez, social worker at Kane County Hospital; Jeffrey Bowyer-Chapman, actor; Dawn Bridges, director of information technology at KTGY Architecture + Planning; Angela Bromstad, executive producer; Brooke Halsband, associate at Hyland & Hyland; Jessica Kastner, staff attorney at AdvoKids; Miguel Sanchez Lascurain, vice president of Brand, Web, and Creative at TiVo; Barnaby Murff, CEO at Extraordinary Families; Francesca Orsi, senior vice president, drama series at HBO; Jocelyn Tetel, vice president of advancement at Skirball Cultural Center; Steve Vai, musician and philanthropist.
